Haere_mai, welcome to the website of the parish of Ss Mary and Joseph of Otaki and Levin. Catholicism was first established in the area in the early 1840s and we are blessed to have the oldest, continuously used Catholic church in New Zealand at Pukekaraka, Otaki.
Our website is still being developed but it will become a taonga of the parish when it is replete with the history, background and initiatives of our Catholic communities.
We are a diverse and passionate community, grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ and are committed to the lifelong growth in the faith of all.
Ours is a newly established parish and the northernmost parish of the Archdiocese on the western side of the North Island. It has borders with the Diocese of Palmerston North along the Manawatu River and with the parish of Our Lady of Kapiti to the south.
